You might have come across several incidents where people gatecrash events, mostly weddings. Most of the time, such incidents are taken lightly while it snowballs into controversies in some cases. One such incident has now become the talk of the town in Nayagarh district after some wedding crashers were thrashed by the bride’s family members after they allegedly created a ruckus.
As per reports, three marriage functions were held at Bhairabi temple near Pratap Prasad village under Itamati police limits on Friday. It is alleged that the baraatis of a particular wedding were found relishing food in another marriage venue.
After the matter came to light, the family members of the bride opposed the baraatis. Soon it snowballed into a major controversy following a heated exchange of words from both sides. The entire area virtually turned into a mini-battle field with people exchanging kicks and blows.
On getting information, Itamati police rushed to the spot and detained one person, who allegedly created a ruckus in a drunken state. Later, he was released after submitting an undertaking at the police station.

As predicted, a low-pressure area has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and north Odisha and West Bengal coast today. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday said that the low-pressure area has formed under the influence of yesterday's cyclonic circulation.
Earlier, the IMD had issued an alert for thunderstorms and heavy spells of rain in several parts of Odisha in the next three hours today.
As per the latest bulletin, the alert has been issued for the districts of Dhenkanal, Angul, Balasore, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Nuapada, and Bolangir.
